Optical Polishing Technician

What you will do

• Polish precision optics using conventional spindle polishing machines.
• Perform blocking, unblocking, and visual surface inspection of optical components to ISO standards.
• Measure work-pieces for conformance to specifications using tools like Zygo Interferometers, micrometers, and calipers.
• Protect and clean components while maintaining a safe operating environment.
• Document and communicate actions and irregularities to supervisors and team members.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be legally authorized to access controlled technology under US Export Administration Regulations.
• Intermediate mathematical skills including basic math and geometry.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and follow written/verbal English work instructions.
• Ability to work the Back End Night shift (6:00 PM – 6:00 AM, Wed-Sat rotation).

Nice to have

• Previous optical spindle polishing knowledge.
• Knowledge of SAP.
