Manufacturing Technician (Optics)

Salary: $18.89–$31.49 per hour

What you will do

• Fabricate replicated optics from small substrates through final products using polished masters, precision alignment tooling, and epoxy.
• Separate, trim, clean, and prepare mirror products.
• Prepare substrates through vapor honing, masking, bake-out, and tooling re-processing.
• Prepare master optics and submasters, including non-destructive cleaning, chemical and mechanical processing, cleaning, and fixturing.
• Use calipers, micrometers, gage blocks, and other mechanical measurement equipment.
• Evaluate the cosmetic quality of polished and coated surfaces.

Requirements

• Ability to perform repetitive manufacturing tasks with good visual acuity and manual dexterity.
• Ability to read and write English and communicate verbally.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and follow work instructions and procedures.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel.
• Blueprint, schematic, manufacturing process, and test procedure interpretation skills are preferred.
• Optics experience is preferred.
