Senior Manager - Financial Reporting

Location: Tampa, Florida, United States; onsite five days per week for the first 90 days, then four days per week

What you will do

• Provide strategic oversight of regulatory, statutory, SEC, FERC, FPSC, and shareholder reporting.
• Ensure the accuracy of financial statements, disclosures, reconciliations, consolidations, and variance analyses.
• Research and resolve complex, emerging, and non-routine accounting matters and present conclusions to leadership and external auditors.
• Establish accounting policies and support rate recovery, rate cases, regulatory strategy, and testimony.
• Oversee monthly close, financial forecasting, modeling, SOX controls, audit readiness, and board reporting.
• Lead a multifunctional financial reporting team and drive process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from a regionally accredited college or university.
• Active CPA license required.
• At least 8 years of financial or accounting experience and 3 years of leadership or project lead experience.
• Advanced knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC accounting and disclosure requirements, financial analysis, and Microsoft Office.
• Strong Microsoft Excel proficiency required.
• Ability to work autonomously in a deadline-driven environment, engage with senior stakeholders, resolve complex problems, and lead supervisors, analysts, and accountants.

Nice to have

• Graduate degree in Finance or Accounting or an MBA.
• Regulated utility accounting, public accounting, FERC accounting, or utility regulatory experience.
• Experience with SAP, BPC, PowerPlan, or Allegro.
• Knowledge of electric and gas utility operations.
