Manager, Financial Reporting (Automotive)

Location: Chicago, IL; the ideal candidate will live in the Chicagoland area. US work authorization is required, and employment visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $104,100–$130,150 base salary annually, plus potential bonus and/or equity programs depending on level and role.

What you will do

• Prepare and file Forms 10-Q, 10-K, and other SEC reports.
• Prepare and review monthly financial reporting packages for senior management.
• Lead or participate in quarterly disclosure committee meetings.
• Partner with internal and external auditors and support the monthly close through journal entry preparation and review.
• Research complex transactions, assess new accounting standards, and lead implementation activities.
• Manage, develop, and coach direct reports while supporting internal controls, PeopleSoft finance operations, and process improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA certification and 6+ years of financial reporting or public accounting experience.
• Deep knowledge of US GAAP, SEC reporting rules, and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance requirements.
• Experience with financial systems and SEC reporting tools such as ActiveDisclosure or Workiva.
• Advanced Excel and Google Suite skills, with strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, explain complex accounting topics to non-finance colleagues, and demonstrate strong ownership.

• Big Four public accounting experience combined with experience at a public company.
