Patient Care Tech, PCT - Emergency Department (Healthcare)

Location: MelroseWakefield Hospital, Melrose, Massachusetts, United States. Onsite work on nights and weekends, 7 p.m.–7 a.m., for 36 hours per week.

Pay range: $19.77–$24.57 per hour, based on full-time equivalent.

What you will do

• Provide direct patient care, including personal hygiene, elimination, catheter care, vital signs, skin care, mobility, and documentation.
• Support patient nutrition through feedings and document intake, output, and weight.
• Perform selected therapeutic procedures according to competency and skills requirements.
• Set up equipment and assist physicians and clinicians with treatments, dressings, tests, and other procedures.
• Perform 12-lead EKGs, document patient information, and promptly deliver results to the appropriate nurse or physician.
• Work with the healthcare team to support departmental objectives, patient care, and public relations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One of the following: Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, EMT, or nursing student with clinical experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to provide nursing support under the direction of physicians, advanced practice clinicians, and registered nurses.
• Ability to work 36 hours per week on night and weekend shifts from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
