Senior Buyer, Global Sourcing & Import Procurement

Location: Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada; international travel and supplier visits may be required.

What you will do

• Manage end-to-end purchasing for imported exclusive-brand and private-label products sourced from Asian suppliers.
• Execute purchase orders, analyze replenishment requirements, and support inventory targets, customer demand, and service levels.
• Build supplier relationships, obtain quotations, and negotiate pricing, payment terms, lead times, minimum order quantities, and freight efficiencies.
• Monitor supplier production, delivery performance, quality, shortages, and supply risks while resolving purchasing and shipment issues.
• Coordinate stock transfers and inventory balancing with U.S. distribution centers and collaborate with planning, logistics, operations, and product teams.
• Maintain procurement records and support process improvement, automation, reporting, and supplier performance initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Operations, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• 5–10+ years of experience in purchasing, global sourcing, or import procurement.
• Direct experience working with Asian factories and international suppliers.
• Knowledge of direct-import procurement, international logistics, freight operations, customs, tariffs, and Incoterms.
• Experience with inventory replenishment and intercompany stock transfers across distribution networks.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Power BI, ERP, and planning systems such as SAP, Oracle, Blue Ridge, JDA, or similar tools.

Nice to have

• Experience with industrial, commercial, or technical product categories.
• Exclusive-brand or private-label sourcing experience.
• Experience with direct-import container programs, high-SKU portfolios, or distribution and wholesale operations.
• Experience supporting cross-border inventory transfers between Canadian and U.S. distribution centers.
