Staff / Sr. Staff / Principal - eSSD Validation Engineer (PCIe/NVMe)

Salary: $120,000–$210,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, implement, and execute comprehensive validation plans for enterprise PCIe and NVMe eSSDs.
• Manage test plans, track testing progress, identify issues, and report results against design specifications and customer requirements.
• Perform initial failure triage and collaborate with SOC, firmware, and hardware teams to resolve defects.
• Conduct test gap analysis to improve product integration and reliability.
• Work with FAE and CAE teams to investigate customer issues, debug failures, and provide timely responses.
• Maintain clear communication to support efficient problem-solving and product quality.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on enterprise storage or semiconductor experience with a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field, or 3 years of experience with a master’s degree.
• Experience using physical protocol analyzers and trace evaluation tools.
• Strong knowledge of PCIe Gen 5/6/7, NVMe 2.0+, NVMe-MI, SMBus, and I2C.
• Proficiency in Python, C, and C++ for hardware test automation and interaction with PCIe and firmware configuration registers.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of the Linux kernel and drivers.
• Knowledge of NAND technology.
• Embedded firmware experience.
• Strong understanding of storage architectures and system-level debugging.
