Placement Specialist - Commercial Lines Small/Mid NW (Insurance)

Salary: $54,000–$91,000 base compensation per year

What you will do

• Manage timelines and processes for new business and renewal placements for small commercial insurance accounts.
• Analyze exposures, financial information, market conditions, coverage offers, and potential coverage gaps.
• Develop account marketing strategies, prepare carrier submissions, and use carrier portals, rating tools, and agency management systems.
• Negotiate coverage terms, select alternative carriers, and prepare and present coverage proposals.
• Collaborate with Client Advisors, Account Service teams, insurance carriers, and wholesalers on placement strategy and outcomes.
• Review policies and contracts, maintain market relationships, support projects, and meet licensing and continuing education requirements.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of insurance industry experience focused on small or mid-sized commercial account placements.
• Current Property & Casualty insurance license required.
• Strong knowledge of commercial insurance markets, carrier appetites, placement strategies, and applicable coverages.
• Strong critical thinking, financial analysis, negotiation, communication, presentation, organization, and customer service skills.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with Applied/EPIC is preferred.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate documentation.

Nice to have

• Professional insurance designation such as CRM, CISR, CIC, AAI, ARM, or CPCU, or active pursuit of one.
