Lead Autonomous Vehicle Engineering Technician (Automotive)

Location: In-person in Atlanta, GA; initial 4–6 week in-person training in Richmond, CA. Occasional work travel may be required, up to 30%.

What you will do

• Lead daily technical activities, assign workloads, establish priorities, and track technician tasks through completion.
• Build, maintain, troubleshoot, and operate vehicle, lab, and hardware test platforms.
• Integrate network and vehicle components into server racks and assemble custom hardware for Hardware-in-the-Loop testing.
• Diagnose and repair complex electrical, mechanical, computer, networking, and system-level issues.
• Build and review cable harnesses, installations, repairs, and modifications against schematics and engineering requirements.
• Coordinate with engineering and cross-functional teams on upgrades, demonstrations, documentation, safety, and issue resolution.

Requirements

• Demonstrated ability to lead, coordinate, mentor, and provide technical direction to technicians.
• Experience with shop, automotive, and diagnostic tools, including multimeters, oscilloscopes, and soldering irons.
• Experience building, troubleshooting, and diagnosing computers, PCBs, networking hardware, and related systems.
• Experience building cable harnesses and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, technical drawings, and engineering documentation.
• Ability to diagnose complex electrical, mechanical, computer, and network-related issues independently.
• Ability to work in low-clearance areas and lift or carry 25–50 lb boxes.

Nice to have

• Previous Lead Technician, Senior Technician, Shop Lead, or similar technical leadership experience.
• Experience with Google Workspace, Fleetio, JIRA, Confluence, or similar tools.
• Experience with Linux systems, scripting, network equipment, electric vehicles, and high-voltage systems.
• Experience supporting prototype, development, test, or engineering vehicle environments.
• B.S. in an engineering field.
