TL;DR
Information System Security Officer (Cybersecurity): Supporting classified Department of Defense information systems and authorization programs with an accent on RMF implementation, cyber risk assessment, continuous monitoring, and security compliance. Focus on interpreting JSIG requirements, coordinating A&A activities, investigating security events, and leading secure solutions across cybersecurity teams.

Location: Arlington, TX, United States; professional office environment with some travel required. Only U.S. citizens are eligible, and eligibility for a DoD Personal Security Clearance is required.

What you will do

  • Support classified Department of Defense programs and integrate cybersecurity activities with program management leadership.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with government Authorizing Officials and coordinate authorization and approval activities.
  • Interpret JSIG and related requirements, conduct cyber risk assessments, analyze vulnerabilities and mitigations, and implement the Risk Management Framework.
  • Develop authorization, security management, and continuous-monitoring documentation for networked and standalone systems.
  • Coordinate continuous monitoring, SIEM-based indicator-of-compromise detection, configuration management, and security investigations.
  • Lead and mentor cybersecurity professionals while collaborating with engineers, architects, developers, and program stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Graduate degree with at least 5 years of related experience, or a STEM bachelor's degree with at least 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Active DoD 8570.01-M IAM Level II certification, such as CISSP, CISM, or GSLC.
  • Expertise in FIPS, NIST SP 800 Series, JSIG, DAAPM, ICD, and related security standards and regulations.
  • Experience managing cybersecurity requirements or teams in collateral, SAP, or SCI environments and leading classified-system authorization.
  • Experience managing people and technical resources and working with government, security, IT, engineering, and program-management stakeholders.
  • U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a DoD Personal Security Clearance are mandatory.

Nice to have

  • Working knowledge of Windows and Linux environments.
  • Experience with SIEM and compliance-scanning tools such as Splunk, Nessus, ACAS, SCC SCAP, SolarWinds, STIG Viewer, and Vulnerator.
  • Project management experience and the ability to motivate and develop cybersecurity team members.
