Cybersecurity Manager I

Location: Sparks, Nevada, United States; onsite. Ability to travel as needed.

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, hire, and develop the Security Engineering team while setting priorities, workload, resourcing, and technical quality standards.
• Translate enterprise security architecture into actionable engineering plans and oversee secure-by-design reviews across infrastructure, network, and application environments.
• Direct the evaluation, deployment, and lifecycle management of security tools and platforms.
• Manage risk and vulnerability assessment programs, prioritize findings, enforce security controls, and track remediation effectiveness.
• Embed security requirements into IT project lifecycles and communicate risk posture, program status, and incident learnings to senior leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, network engineering, information technology, or a related engineering field, or 11+ years of related experience without a degree.
• 7+ years of related experience; a higher-level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and network architectures, including risk assessment, incident response, and digital forensics.
• Experience administering UNIX, Linux, and Windows operating systems, large-scale server systems, thin client architecture, system virtualization, and related peripherals.
• Experience with Assessment and Authorization requirements, NISPOM, DoD RMF, ICD 503, JSIG, and NIST RMF.
• U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance are required.

Nice to have

• Advanced certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or similar.
• Hands-on experience with SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, cloud security, EDR, NDR, NAC, and DLP platforms.
• Knowledge of AI security practices and AI Security Posture Management, including risks introduced by AI/ML systems.
• Experience using AI-driven tools and automation for security assessments and vulnerability management.
• Knowledge of DoD, government contracting, and public auditing policies, standards, and procedures.
