Information System Security Officer (Cybersecurity)

Location: Wright-Patt AFB, Ohio, United States; on-site support for NASIC FME.

What you will do

• Execute security procedures for classified computer systems and continuously monitor cybersecurity controls.
• Identify, implement, test, and maintain cybersecurity requirements with full traceability.
• Support Authorization to Operate activities, including security artifacts, test plans, eMASS documentation, and POA&Ms.
• Coordinate with contractors, government personnel, and the Security Control Assessor Representative team to maintain the system security posture.
• Advise the program management office on security compliance issues affecting operations.
• Conduct self-assessments, investigate security violations, and enforce access requirements for cleared systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in IT systems, engineering, or another technical field preferred, plus 3–5 years of related experience or an equivalent combination.
• Active TS/SCI clearance required.
• U.S. citizenship required; ability to obtain NACI/T1.
• At least 3 years of cybersecurity or defense-industry security experience.
• Knowledge of firewalls, intrusion detection, antivirus, encryption, and other information security practices.
• Experience with SDLC methodologies, CDRLs, and strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to obtain IAM Level I certification within 90 days.

Nice to have

• DoD security courses and knowledge of U.S. government information system security standards.
• Experience with NIST 800-171, NIST 800-53, JSIG, ICD 503, and the Risk Management Framework.
• Knowledge of Solaris/Unix and Oracle database hardening and administration.
• IAM Level I certification such as CAP, GSLC, or Security+ CE.
