TL;DR
Electrical Engineer II (Medical Devices) (RF and pulsed field ablation): Designing and verifying complex electrical systems for cardiac mapping and ablation therapies with an accent on high-voltage circuits, power electronics, sensing, isolation, grounding, and EMC robustness. Focus on managing electrical hazards, validating patient-safe designs, investigating failures, and sustaining regulated medical-device products.

Location: Mounds View, Minnesota, United States of America; onsite office role. Candidates must have unrestricted U.S. work authorization at hire and throughout employment.

Salary: $87,200–$130,800 per year, plus eligibility for a short-term incentive plan.

What you will do

  • Design and support electrical systems for cardiac mapping and ablation platforms, including generators, energy delivery systems, sensing circuits, monitoring circuits, and safety-critical subsystems.
  • Develop and review electrical architectures and requirements for RF and pulsed field ablation technologies.
  • Perform detailed design of high-voltage circuits, power electronics, isolation schemes, grounding strategies, and EMC-robust systems.
  • Execute verification and validation activities and contribute to design reviews, hazard analyses, failure investigations, and electrical risk management.
  • Support sustaining engineering through root-cause analysis, design changes, component obsolescence management, and manufacturing improvements.
  • Collaborate with systems, firmware, mechanical, manufacturing, quality, regulatory, service, supplier, and program teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree with no minimum experience requirement.
  • Experience or capability in analog and digital mixed-signal design, safety-critical circuit design, and EMC/ESD mitigation is preferred.
  • Ability to contribute to technical decisions in complex multidisciplinary systems and take ownership of assigned workstreams.
  • Unrestricted U.S. work authorization is required; sponsorship is not available for roles below Principal level.
  • Foreign bachelor’s degrees must satisfy the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A).
