Principal Data Solutions Architect - Enterprise Data Platform Architect (Azure)

Location: Hybrid role based in Baltimore, Maryland; De Pere, Wisconsin; Houston, Texas; or Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, United States

Salary: $156,600–$174,000 per year, depending on experience, plus bonus and comprehensive benefits.

What you will do

• Design and implement conceptual, logical, and physical data architectures aligned with enterprise business objectives.
• Lead the development and optimization of data pipelines, data warehouses, and business intelligence solutions.
• Translate business and IT requirements into scalable, secure, and high-performance data platforms.
• Establish data governance, quality, security, stewardship, and enterprise data standards.
• Evaluate emerging data technologies and continuously improve data systems for efficiency, scalability, and cost effectiveness.
• Mentor data teams and communicate data strategies and complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems with 8 years of experience, or 12 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• At least 10 years of IT experience, including 5 years in data architecture, data engineering, or a similar role.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Databricks.
• Expertise in data modeling, ETL pipelines, data lakes, data warehouses, Big Data technologies, relational and NoSQL databases, and OLTP/OLAP systems.
• Knowledge of data governance, data security, cybersecurity fundamentals, data profiling, data cataloging, and data dictionaries.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams, managing large-scale projects, defining data strategies, and communicating with senior leadership and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or another advanced technical degree.
• Experience with Azure Machine Learning or MLflow.
• Experience optimizing Azure data solutions for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Familiarity with GDPR, CCPA, encryption, access controls, and auditability.
