Formulation Chemist – Skincare

Location: Denby, Derbyshire, United Kingdom. The role requires the right to work in the UK. No domestic or international relocation is provided. The position follows a hybrid arrangement: office-based five days per week for the first 90 days, then four days in the office and one day working from home each week.

What you will do

• Lead formulation development projects from concept through design freeze.
• Develop and optimize skincare formulations according to safety, quality, and ingredient standards.
• Conduct laboratory testing, analyze results, and implement formulation improvements.
• Collaborate with Research and Development, Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, Supply Chain, and Procurement.
• Provide technical leadership during scale-up and manufacturing transfer activities.
• Maintain technical documentation and project data in SAP and Product Lifecycle Management systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline.
• Proven experience in cosmetic formulation development.
• Hands-on experience developing formulations across multiple technologies, including emulsions.
• Strong understanding of ingredient functionality and performance data interpretation.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and prioritization skills.
• Right to work in the UK is required.
