Analytical Chemist

What you will do

• Conduct food and water analyses and support plant quality control.
• Investigate contaminants, foreign bodies, taint and odour issues, and other chemistry-based problems.
• Provide food-contact regulatory support and coordinate analytical investigations using internal or outsourced resources.
• Generate accurate data using HPLC, ion chromatography, ICP-OES, FTIR, GC, GC/MS, and DSC.
• Maintain assigned laboratory equipment and support laboratory standards and upkeep.
• Interpret technical data, prepare formal reports, manage sample traceability, and train staff and apprentices.

Requirements

• Subject expertise in analytical chemistry and the ability to select appropriate analytical techniques.
• Experience with laboratory analysis and interpretation of technical data.
• Ability to document and label samples accurately and maintain full traceability using appropriate IT systems.
• Ability to maintain laboratory equipment and support facility standards.
• Ability to communicate conclusions and recommendations through timely technical reports.
