Health Benefit Representative (Health Insurance)

Location: Remote-NY; field-based work within Onondaga County, New York. Required to work evenings and weekends.

Pay: $23.23–$39.61 per hour

What you will do

• Educate consumers and assist with enrollment through the NY State of Health Marketplace, including Medicaid, Child Health Plus, Essential Plan, Qualified Health Plans, and HARP.
• Explain eligibility, tax credits, cost-sharing reductions, plan features, deductibles, co-pays, co-insurance, and Marketplace metal tiers.
• Support renewals, recertifications, document submission, premium payments, and follow-up for prospective and existing members.
• Teach members how to use Fidelis digital tools, including the member portal and mobile app.
• Conduct public education presentations and participate in ACA forums, workshops, and community events.
• Maintain accurate CRM records, activity tracking, application dashboards, applicant data, and follow-up dispositions.

Requirements

• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employment-based visa sponsorship.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic computer skills and prior public speaking experience.
• Two or more years of experience in managed care, sales, customer service, or a related field is preferred.
• Driver’s license is mandatory for non-NYC counties and preferred for NYC counties.
• Must complete NY State of Health-approved training and annual Marketplace Facilitated Enroller recertification requirements.
• Must protect confidential information and comply with ACA, regulatory, privacy, security, and conflict-of-interest standards.

Nice to have

• Fluency in a second language.
• Experience in managed care, sales, or customer service.
