Operations Supervisor (Terminals)

Location: Perth Amboy, New Jersey, United States; onsite work in a 24/7 terminal environment

Salary: USD $93,600–$135,700 per year

What you will do

• Supervise a shift of approximately 4–10 union terminal operators.
• Coordinate safe and efficient product movements with the Control Room across marine, rail, truck, tank, loading rack, conveyor, and pipeline operations.
• Oversee dock operations, tank and pipeline alignment, equipment inspections, maintenance coordination, and first-line troubleshooting.
• Lead safety walks, work permits, job hazard reviews, incident investigations, and compliance activities.
• Schedule personnel, provide vacation coverage, manage performance, and coach direct reports.
• Maintain operational records, payroll coding, work orders, KPI documentation, and weekly improvement summaries.

Requirements

• Must work onsite in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, including all hours, rotating shifts, overtime, and after-hours responses as needed.
• At least 5 years of supervisory experience and the ability to lead a small team in a high-stress operational environment.
• Valid High Pressure Black Seal Boiler Operator’s License and valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to work at heights of up to 60 feet, climb stairs and ladders, carry up to 50 pounds, work in extreme weather, and wear required PPE and a full-face respirator.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook, along with strong communication, math, organization, and time-management skills.
• Completion of company-sponsored Pipeline Hydraulics training and related courses with an assessment score of at least 80%.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of OSHA, USCG, DOT, OQ, RMP, Industrial Hygiene, API, and DPCC/SPCC regulations.
• Experience handling dry and liquid bulk commodities.
• Experience supervising or managing employees in a union environment.
