Critical Operations Technician I (Night Shift)

Location: Manassas, Virginia, United States. Onsite data center role with night shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call support as needed. Travel is none or less than 5%. Must be eligible to work in the United States.

What you will do

• Operate, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, building monitoring, control, and fire life safety systems.
• Maintain chilled water systems, HVAC equipment, CRAC/CRAH units, humidification systems, fan walls, chillers, and central plant operations.
• Maintain critical power distribution from utility and generator switchgear through UPS systems, PDUs, RPPs, and customer loads.
• Execute preventive and predictive maintenance, track operational trends, document discrepancies, and manage work through a CMMS.
• Coordinate power installations and upgrades while identifying efficiency improvements and preventing unplanned customer-impacting outages.
• Respond to incidents, conduct facility and security tours, provide customer support, and write or modify maintenance procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of experience in data center or other mission-critical operations.
• General understanding of data center electrical and mechanical systems, including UPS, transformers, PDUs, RPPs, chillers, CRAH/CRAC units, STS, ATS, and pre-action systems.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA 70E, NFPA 72, NFPA 25, applicable building codes, and fire life safety compliance.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, database software, operational trending, analysis, and PC-based site monitoring systems.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States and pass a comprehensive background screening. Must be able to lift or move up to 25 pounds and work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
