TL;DR
Retirement Plan Manager (Retirement Programs and Governance): Managing governance, compliance oversight, vendor relationships, and strategic evolution of qualified and non-qualified retirement programs with an accent on fiduciary oversight, regulatory compliance, and participant outcomes. Focus on implementing new plan programs, mitigating operational and compliance risks, improving vendor performance, and applying automation, analytics, and AI-enabled solutions.

Location: Hybrid, with 3 days per week in the office and 2 days working from home. Office locations are Hudson Yards in New York City, Holmdel, NJ, Stamford, CT, or Bethlehem, PA. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.

Salary: $103,450–$169,960 per year, plus potential incentive compensation.

What you will do

  • Support the design, evaluation, and implementation of qualified and non-qualified retirement programs, including defined benefit, defined contribution, and executive retirement plans.
  • Maintain retirement plan governance, operational controls, fiduciary oversight processes, documentation, and risk management standards.
  • Coordinate compliance activities, nondiscrimination testing, regulatory filings, audits, annual limits, remediation, and data integrity improvements.
  • Manage relationships with recordkeepers, administrators, consultants, auditors, custodians, and fiduciary service providers.
  • Improve participant communications, financial wellness, retirement readiness, digital capabilities, and service outcomes.
  • Support operating model transformation, automation, analytics, AI-enabled solutions, vendor transitions, and strategic retirement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in retirement plan administration, governance, fiduciary support, consulting, or retirement program management.
  • Deep expertise in qualified and non-qualified retirement plans, including defined benefit, defined contribution, and executive retirement programs.
  • Strong knowledge of ERISA fiduciary requirements, Internal Revenue Code retirement plan provisions, governance practices, operational controls, and compliance risk.
  • Experience implementing plan design changes, new programs, operating model improvements, and complex vendor relationships.
  • Advanced analytical and Excel skills; legally authorized to work in the United States without employer visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

  • Experience in a large corporate or financial services environment.
  • Experience with fiduciary service arrangements, retirement operating model transformation, pension risk management, or retirement technology modernization.
