Senior Finance Manager (Legal)

What you will do

• Lead the London finance function and act as the primary local finance advisor to partners.
• Oversee accounting operations, including general ledger integrity, reconciliations, month-end close, intercompany matters, reporting, and audit support.
• Manage SRA compliance, client and matter due diligence oversight, and regulatory reporting readiness.
• Lead billing and collections, monitor revenue metrics, reduce work-in-progress and accounts receivable aging, and resolve billing queries.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, variance analysis, and VAT compliance for UK and cross-border billing.
• Manage, develop, and mentor a team of 3–4 finance professionals while collaborating with US-based finance teams.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in a finance management role.
• ACA, ACCA, or an equivalent professional accounting qualification.
• Significant finance experience, ideally in a law firm or professional services environment.
• Working knowledge of the SRA Accounts Rules and experience across accounting, revenue or billing, and compliance.
• Experience managing teams and partnering with senior stakeholders.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and judgment, including the ability to work across time zones with US-based counterparts.
