Electrical Technician (Telecommunications)

Location: Chantilly, Virginia; candidates may be based anywhere and must be willing to travel up to 90% and work on-site as contract needs require.

What you will do

• Route and install telecommunications cabling, electrical wiring, fiber-optic cable, EMT, and GRC conduit.
• Install, relocate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair communication equipment and systems.
• Install telephone instruments, microwave and satellite communication modules, interface cards, modems, hubs, routers, multiplexers, and equipment racks.
• Document installations, modifications, maintenance, and repairs.
• Support telecommunications system and facility-layout changes while complying with building and electrical codes.
• Operate scissor lifts and boom lifts safely and perform work at heights.

Requirements

• Must be eligible for a government clearance and able to pass NCIC, SF-86, and other required federal background investigations.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 90% and work on-site as required.
• Willingness to learn EMT and GRC conduit bending and lift operation.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and safely climb ladders.
• Entry-level electrical or telecommunications experience or interest in developing these skills.
