Commercial Counsel (AI SaaS)

Location: Hybrid in San Francisco, California, or New York, New York; office attendance required on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays

Salary: $280,000–$340,000 base salary per year

What you will do

• Negotiate complex AI SaaS and enterprise B2B agreements for customers, primarily across the Americas.
• Provide day-to-day commercial legal support to sales, marketing, channels, and customer success teams.
• Draft and negotiate agreements addressing privacy, security, and AI regulatory matters.
• Collaborate with Product Legal on product, operational, and go-to-market initiatives affecting customer agreements.
• Identify and independently pursue improvements to buy-side support processes.
• Develop and revise contract templates and playbooks as products, organizational needs, and laws evolve.

Requirements

• Admission to the California State Bar, New York State Bar, or registration as In-House Counsel in good standing.
• 10+ years of combined commercial legal experience in a law firm or software technology company.
• At least 2 years of in-house experience at a SaaS and/or AI technology company.
• Expertise in privacy and artificial intelligence matters, including GDPR, the e-Privacy Directive, CCPA, and the EU AI Act.
• Experience with commercial transactions, SaaS agreements, enterprise B2B transactions, negotiation, and contract drafting.
• Strong communication, relationship-building, strategic judgment, resilience, and willingness to use AI tools in daily work.
