What you will do

• Advise Product, Engineering, Data, Security, and Innovation teams throughout the product lifecycle.
• Provide legal guidance on SaaS, cloud, data, AI-enabled, and emerging technology products, including design, development, launch, commercialization, and customer commitments.
• Advise on privacy, data collection and use, data governance, security, data rights, licensing, and commercialization.
• Counsel stakeholders on AI-related contractual, intellectual property, privacy, transparency, bias, and regulatory issues.
• Advise on intellectual property ownership, licensing, protection, technology acquisitions, monetization, and strategic partnerships.
• Conduct legal risk assessments and develop governance frameworks, policies, training, and practical compliance guidance.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar.
• 10–12+ years of legal experience supporting technology, SaaS, cloud, data, or software businesses.
• Experience advising product, engineering, and technology teams on product development and commercialization.
• Expertise in technology transactions, strategic partnerships, software licensing, SaaS agreements, and commercial contracting.
• Strong understanding of intellectual property, data governance, privacy, AI, cybersecurity, and emerging technology regulations.
• Strong negotiation, drafting, analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting AI-enabled products, data platforms, or emerging technology initiatives.
• Experience with strategic alliances, cloud ecosystem partnerships, technology marketplaces, mergers and acquisitions, or technology integration.
• In-house experience at a global SaaS, cloud, software, or technology company.
• Familiarity with higher education technology, enterprise software, ERP, CRM, student systems, or regulated technology environments.
• Experience building scalable product review, AI governance, or technology risk management processes.
