Enterprise Architect, Infrastructure Platform

Location: Boston, MA, United States; employees work from the office 4 days a week with flexibility to work remotely 1 day a week.

Salary: USD 120,000–225,000 base salary per year, plus potential variable compensation and benefits.

What you will do

• Develop enterprise architecture strategies, target-state designs, roadmaps, transition plans, reference architectures, patterns, standards, and technology guidance.
• Partner with Technology Platform CIOs, product owners, solution architects, engineers, and governance groups to align platform and product decisions with business outcomes.
• Guide architecture for business applications, data and AI platforms, APIs, DevSecOps platforms, cloud infrastructure, integration services, and other enterprise capabilities.
• Support architecture governance, review boards, technology risk assessment, post-implementation validation, and management of technical debt, security, resiliency, and non-functional requirements.
• Lead or contribute to technology evaluations, proofs of concept, build-versus-buy decisions, modernization planning, and industry research.
• Mentor architects and technology leads, contribute to architecture training and practice development, and improve reuse and consistency across the architecture community.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business, or a related field; advanced degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
• 10 or more years of experience in technology leadership, enterprise architecture, solution architecture, platform architecture, technology strategy, or large-scale technology transformation.
• Experience developing architecture strategies, roadmaps, reference architectures, standards, patterns, and governance materials in a complex enterprise environment.
• Strong understanding of domain-driven design, API and event-driven integration, cloud-native architecture, infrastructure as code, DevSecOps, data platforms, AI platforms, and reusable platform services.
• Experience evaluating technology decisions through business value, risk, resiliency, security, cost, operational impact, and long-term maintainability.
• Ability to work effectively with senior technology leaders, product owners, solution architects, engineers, risk partners, information security, infrastructure, data, and AI governance teams.
• Strong executive communication skills and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into concise, business-aligned recommendations.
• Experience with architecture governance processes, architecture review boards, technology standards, non-functional requirements, technical debt management, and post-implementation validation.
• Ability to influence without formal authority, build trust through expertise and collaboration, and bring structure to ambiguous problems across multiple stakeholders and initiatives.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with architecture frameworks, modeling approaches, TOGAF, Open Group standards, or related industry architecture practices.
• Advanced degree or equivalent experience.
