What you will do
- Interpret and evaluate subsurface geological data to create integrated maps, cross sections, and reservoir displays.
- Correlate and interpret well logs, petrophysical analyses, seismic data, producing traps, structures, and intervals.
- Define economically justified objectives for drilling, recompletion, and workover activities.
- Supervise and perform on-site open-hole well evaluations, coordinating evaluation tools and service company vendors.
- Assess external proposals, evaluate their economic viability, and present geological work to support external capital resources.
- Maintain confidential information, technical knowledge, professional relationships, and adherence to company standards.
Requirements
- 0–2 years of experience in geological oil and gas development or exploration.
- Bachelor’s degree in geology from an accredited four-year university or college.
- High-level proficiency with on-site open-hole evaluation and problem solving.
- Ability to integrate geological interpretations into economically justified investment opportunities.
- Proficiency with PETRA or other geological database and mapping software.
- Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, project management, and multitasking skills; availability for 24-hour on-call support.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in geology.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Practical understanding of reservoir and operations engineering, land management, and related company functions.
