Director, Buying & Allocation Outlet Handbags

Location: New York, New York, USA; hybrid work arrangement

Base pay range: $170,000–$185,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead the Outlet Handbags Buying & Allocation team and set the strategic direction for the omni-channel outlet business.
• Develop merchandising, store tiering, sales planning, buying, and allocation strategies to improve revenue, gross margin, and inventory performance.
• Lead the buying process from concept through completion, including product development partnerships, regional merchandising, and financial planning.
• Manage open-to-buy and SKU-level sales, inventory, and margin targets while improving forecast accuracy.
• Analyze trends, customer feedback, product performance, and competitive conditions to shape assortments and identify growth opportunities.
• Lead a team of four and collaborate with Marketing, E-commerce, Product Knowledge, Visual Merchandising, Store Operations, and field teams.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of buying or related experience in a fast-paced retail or fashion environment.
• Strong leadership skills with experience motivating and developing teams.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, presentation, and business-case development skills.
• Strong product sensibility and a collaborative approach.
• Experience with planning and reporting systems.
• Experience leveraging AI to generate business insights.
