Payables Accountant

Location: Remote while residing in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, or Utah

Salary: $20.49–$30.82 per hour expected hiring range; full range $19.40–$34.90 per hour; 5% bonus target

What you will do

• Process invoices, statements, voucher check requests, EFT requests, and other payment documentation.
• Audit, balance, reconcile, and record payments to suppliers, providers, members, hospitals, and vendors.
• Set up and maintain EFT arrangements, including provider bank relationship changes.
• Research payment inquiries, discrepancies, failed EFTs, stop payments, replacement payments, and payables subledger issues.
• Complete banking activities such as positive pay research, mass payment processing, check control logs, and payment voids or reissues.
• Maintain payment records and contribute to quality initiatives, controls, and process improvements.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business, plus 2+ years of general accounting, accounts payable, or disbursement accounting experience, or an equivalent combination.
• Knowledge of accounts payable processes and ability to process detailed data accurately.
• Intermediate Excel, Word, email, calendaring, and general administrative software skills.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, customer service, organization, judgment, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines, work flexible hours during heavy workloads, and handle confidential matters.
• Ability to work remotely while residing in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, or Utah; overtime and work outside normal business hours may be required.
