Commissions Accounting Manager (Insurtech)

What you will do

• Review incoming insurance policies and commission statements, enter data into the Agency Management System, and generate commission advances and earnings for agents.
• Reconcile carrier commission payments against expected schedules and investigate discrepancies, missing payments, incorrect payments, and policy or agent status issues.
• Communicate with insurance companies and manage agent calls and emails related to commissions.
• Generate commission payment reports, scan and file statements, and perform weekly quality oversight for individuals and carriers.
• Manage, lead, support, and coach a team of 10–15 commission accounting analysts.
• Improve operating procedures, perform complex financial transactions, balance account statements, and provide backup support to the commission accounting team.

Requirements

• Management experience and strong people skills for leading and coaching others.
• Proficient computer skills and excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, organizational, and numerical accuracy skills.
• Ability to work independently and accurately in a fast-paced environment.
• A four-year degree in Mathematics, Accounting, or a related field is preferred.
• Insurance industry experience and CPA certification are preferred.
