Legal Proofreader

Location: Wheeling, West Virginia, United States; hybrid work arrangement

Salary: $15.91–$21.63 per hour

What you will do

• Review complex legal documents and correct spelling, grammar, and wording errors.
• Detect formatting and compositional issues.
• Compare corrected proofs against mark-up for quality assurance.
• Support document production and preparation as needed.
• Handle sensitive and confidential information.
• Communicate with managers and clients about assignments and deadlines.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in English or Journalism, or equivalent work experience.
• At least one year of proofreading experience, preferably in a legal, banking, or large corporate environment.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, prioritization, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential documents and information.
