Collections Associate (Fintech)

What you will do

• Review and collect on early-stage delinquent loan accounts in line with applicable regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Contact members by telephone, mail, and electronic communication, including handling inbound calls and returning voicemails.
• Analyze loan data, member circumstances, payment history, and collection ability to identify causes of delinquency.
• Negotiate payment plans, monitor promises to pay, process payments and deferments, and determine next steps when arrangements are broken.
• Maintain detailed records of member communications and submit required notices related to delinquency, repossession, bankruptcy, and charge-off matters.
• Perform skip tracing, resolve loan and payment-history questions, and collaborate toward department delinquency and abandonment-rate goals.

Requirements

• Remote position.
• At least 1 year of related experience required.
• Experience handling difficult customer service situations and providing professional, tactful resolutions.
• Excellent verbal, written, listening, and interpersonal communication skills, with an assertive and confident approach to difficult situations.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment.
• Proficient computer skills, organization, analytical ability, and resilience.
