Senior Collections Specialist - ServiceMac (Mortgage Servicing)

Location: Remote within the United States; listed location is Fort Mill, South Carolina. Working hours are 11am-8pm EST.

Pay Range: $23.37-$31.15 per hour

What you will do

• Serve as the primary point of contact for borrowers regarding loss mitigation and collections inquiries.
• Handle inbound and outbound collection calls to resolve delinquent accounts.
• Analyze borrower financial information and determine eligibility for forbearances, loan modifications, short sales, or deeds in lieu.
• Negotiate payment solutions and resolve complex account issues, discrepancies, disputes, and escalations.
• Maintain detailed records of customer interactions and account activity.
• Review accounts for compliance with company policies, investor guidelines, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in collections, loss mitigation, or mortgage servicing.
• High school diploma or equivalent; some college is preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication, negotiation, active listening, conflict management, and customer service skills.
• Knowledge of FHA, VA, FNMA, and FHLMC investor guidelines.
• Knowledge of state and federal Fair Debt Collections Laws, the US Bankruptcy Code, and bankruptcy procedures and regulations.
• Strong computer, analytical, organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
