Vice President, Tax

Location: Toronto, Canada; hybrid work model with regular office collaboration and remote work.

Salary: CAD 205,000–235,000 per year.

What you will do

• Lead global direct tax compliance across Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, and other jurisdictions.
• Own consolidated income tax provision and reporting under IFRS, including IAS 12, deferred tax, uncertain tax positions, and disclosures.
• Advise senior finance leaders and business units on tax planning, legal-entity structure, financing, cash repatriation, M&A, dispositions, and reorganizations.
• Oversee transfer pricing, country-by-country reporting, tax governance, and SOX / NI 52-109 controls.
• Manage tax audits, assessments, and disputes with the CRA, IRS, HMRC, and other tax authorities.
• Lead the Senior Tax Specialist and coordinate external tax advisors, budgets, and engagements.

Requirements

• CPA or equivalent qualification required.
• Progressive tax experience with meaningful public-company and multi-jurisdictional exposure.
• Deep expertise in Canadian corporate tax and IFRS tax accounting, including IAS 12, with working knowledge of U.S. and U.K. tax regimes.
• Strong understanding of international tax, transfer pricing, BEPS, and Pillar Two developments.
• Experience working within a SOX / NI 52-109 control environment.
• Hands-on leadership, executive communication, and experience delivering through a lean team and external advisors.

Nice to have

• CPA In-Depth Tax Program or Master of Taxation.
• Experience in media, entertainment, or an IP-intensive industry.
• Experience using ERP systems such as Dynamics GP or Business Central to improve tax workflows.
• Knowledge of film, animation, and content tax credits.
