Studio Director (AI)

Location: Cape Town, South Africa; hybrid with 3 days per week in the studio

What you will do

• Lead day-to-day Cape Town studio operations, delivery standards, team performance, and operational health.
• Manage resource planning, forecasting, utilisation tracking, weekly reviews, and capacity redistribution across regions and accounts.
• Act as the escalation point for production, workflow, resource, and tooling challenges.
• Coordinate global workflow and automation standards, maintain documentation, and deliver training and enablement programmes.
• Oversee studio production and resource budgets, freelance spend, cost planning, and corrective actions.
• Coach and develop team members while fostering a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing culture.

Requirements

• Proven experience leading creative production, studio operations, or project management teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong resource planning, forecasting, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
• Deep understanding of production workflows, channel-specific requirements, and operational improvement methods.
• Experience sourcing and managing freelance or contingent resources.
• Confidence managing studio budgets, financial reporting, and cost efficiency.
• Experience with production tooling, workflow automation, project management platforms, AI tools, and AI governance standards.
