Software Engineer II (Java)

Location: Hybrid in Brno, Czech Republic; applications accepted from candidates based in the Czech Republic or those with sponsorship to live and work there.

What you will do

• Build and evolve Java and Spring Boot backend microservices running on Kubernetes in AWS.
• Develop the pipeline that transforms published security baselines into compliance reports for Apple devices.
• Break customer problems into actionable work and independently complete tasks from start to finish.
• Collaborate with engineers, product management, and leadership on team and company-wide priorities.
• Apply engineering best practices, communicate technical concepts, and use AI-assisted development tools.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience building enterprise-grade software with solid testing and QA practices.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience developing backend microservices in a cloud environment.
• Comfort working with agile teams and modern SDLC practices.
• Fluency in Czech or Slovak is required.
• Collaborative, solution-oriented communication and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures such as Pulsar.
• Experience with document databases such as MongoDB.
• Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants such as Claude Code, Copilot, or Cursor.
