Backend Developer (Kotlin)

Location: Brno, Czech Republic; hybrid schedule

What you will do

• Build new features, fix bugs, and reduce technical debt across the Creative Factory platform.
• Develop the Kotlin and Spring Boot backend for image and video template editors.
• Contribute to GenAI features for image generation and background removal.
• Grow into React and TypeScript frontend work to support full-stack delivery.
• Review code, including AI-generated code, and take ownership of everything committed.
• Coordinate with Feed, Campaigns, Insights, and Integration teams on templates, catalogs, and advertising workflows.

Requirements

• Solid Kotlin experience; strong Java developers willing to switch may also be considered.
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and PostgreSQL.
• Comfort with or strong interest in React, TypeScript, and some Node.
• Ability to critically review, test, understand, and explain AI-generated code.
• Self-starter mindset and ability to work effectively in a small, new, thinly documented codebase.
• Czech language skills are required for day-to-day team communication.

Nice to have

• Experience with jOOQ, S3-compatible storage, or Google Cloud services such as Cloud Run, Cloud SQL, Cloud Functions, and GKE.
• Interest in creative templates, image and video generation, and the product domain.
