UABOS Spain: War Reserve Equipment Technician (AGE) (Aerospace Ground Equipment)

Location: Morón Air Base, Spain; on-site flight-line and industrial environment

What you will do

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, safety checks, troubleshooting, and repairs on powered and non-powered aerospace ground support equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and HVAC systems on generators, compressors, air conditioners, floodlights, bomb lifts, trailers, rail sets, and conveyors.
• Complete final 7-level quality-control inspections and formal sign-offs in accordance with technical orders and safety directives.
• Train and mentor junior mechanics in troubleshooting, repairs, and flight-line safety.
• Service equipment fluids, maintain tools and hazardous-material controls, and prevent foreign object damage.
• Dispatch, position, and recover equipment on the flight line while documenting maintenance, parts, and labor in paper and automated systems.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship required.
• High school diploma or equivalent and at least four years of AGE or GSE mechanic experience in a military or civilian aviation environment.
• Experience equivalent to USAF AFSC 2A6X2 or 2W0X1 Journeyman or Craftsman 7-Level; equivalent military or civilian aviation experience is accepted.
• Experience with ELMS, IMDS, or an equivalent aviation maintenance database.
• EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification, Section 608, or equivalent environmental certification.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance.

Nice to have

• Formal USAF AGE Training Course or Munitions Systems Apprentice Course.
• War Reserve Materiel or military aircraft base-operations support experience.
• Certifications in heavy diesel repair, AC/DC electrical circuitry, or HVAC systems.
• Heavy-equipment towing experience or forklift certification for equipment up to 10,000 pounds.
