Director of Product, Applied Research Intelligence

Location: Remote, New Jersey, United States; approximately 20% travel for customer and partner engagement, conferences, and team gatherings.

Salary: USD 145,200–212,800 per year, with the final offer based partly on geographic location, skills, and competencies.

What you will do

• Own the outward-facing product strategy and value proposition for Applied Research Intelligence across pharmaceutical, biotechnology, life-sciences, and materials R&D.
• Lead the integration and technology partnership ecosystem, including build, buy, and partner decisions and the integration roadmap.
• Work with sales, services, customers, and design partners to secure early customers and pilots and establish a repeatable land-and-expand motion.
• Translate R&D scientists’ workflows, market insight, and competitive intelligence into product, data-enrichment, and roadmap priorities.
• Support strategic customer and partner conversations, premium positioning, and senior-level external representation.
• Build and scale the product function, including team development, operating practices, and product strategy.

Requirements

• First-hand experience working within or alongside corporate R&D teams in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life-sciences organizations.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in senior product, data-science, or scientific-innovation leadership, including zero-to-one and new-market work.
• Experience generating scientific and competitive intelligence from literature and data across the R&D value chain.
• Hands-on experience implementing and shipping production GenAI and retrieval-augmented generation solutions in a scientific or R&D context, with familiarity with knowledge graphs, agentic AI, and APIs or integrations.
• Strong understanding of R&D scientists and their buyers, with the ability to communicate credibly with scientific, technical, commercial, and executive audiences.
• Strong commercial judgment, cross-functional integration skills, autonomy, and willingness to travel approximately 20%.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree in life sciences, neuroscience, or a related scientific discipline.
• Experience in neuroscience, Alzheimer’s, oncology, scientific intelligence, patent-landscape analysis, or FAIR data practices.
• Experience with scientific data or AI products, partnerships, business development, solutions, or technical pre-sales.
• An established network across pharmaceutical and biotechnology R&D and the life-sciences data ecosystem.
