Inpatient Audit Specialist PRN - Remote (Healthcare)

What you will do

• Perform facility inpatient coding audits for onboarding, focused reviews, service-level agreements, and other review types.
• Apply appropriate codes and coding-related elements using MS DRG or APR DRG methodologies.
• Provide concise, evidence-based rationales for identified changes, including documentation references.
• Monitor regulatory changes and provide coder education through the auditing process.
• Organize multiple cases concurrently while maintaining workflow and turnaround-time standards.
• Support customer needs with professional, efficient, and solution-focused service.

Requirements

• 5+ years of facility inpatient coding experience and/or auditing.
• CCS certification required; RHIA or RHIT preferred.
• Maintain a 95% DRG accuracy rate.
• Experience with Epic, Cerner, and other prevalent electronic medical record systems.
• Strong organizational, teamwork, leadership, professionalism, flexibility, and customer-service skills.
• This role is not eligible for employment sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Spinal coding experience.
• Excellent query-writing skills.
• RHIA or RHIT certification.
