Head of AI

Location: Hybrid in Almere, Netherlands

What you will do

• Define and execute the organisation-wide AI roadmap and drive adoption across product, engineering, and business functions.
• Identify high-value AI use cases, assess business impact and ROI, and evaluate delivery feasibility.
• Lead AI initiatives from concept and proof of concept through production.
• Evaluate build-versus-buy decisions for AI solutions and platforms.
• Design AI architectures and integration patterns while reviewing technical concepts and engineering decisions.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Finance, Business, and executive stakeholders.

Requirements

• Strong experience in AI engineering, AI product development, or AI architecture.
• Experience in a SaaS, software product, or technology-driven environment.
• Strong understanding of modern AI platforms, LLMs, APIs, and integration patterns.
• Experience taking AI initiatives from ideas to production with a strong architectural and delivery mindset.
• Ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders, challenge engineers, and support technical decision-making.
• Strong communication skills and an ability to work with executive teams.

Nice to have

• Experience as a Head of AI in a SaaS or product organisation.
• Background as an AI Product and Engineering Lead, AI Innovation Lead, Principal Engineer, or Technical Architect with AI product experience.
