Intern - Legal & Compliance - Kite Legal

Location: Santa Monica, California, United States; hybrid work at the designated site is required, and fully remote work is not offered.

Salary: $19.00–$55.00 per hour.

Biopharmaceutical organization developing CAR T-cell and T-cell receptor engineered therapies for cancer treatment.

What you will do

• Support legal and compliance teams, including Kite Legal, Ethics and Compliance, litigation, corporate legal, intellectual property, and legal business partners.
• Conduct legal research, analysis, and investigations; draft memoranda and recommendations on business-related legal issues.
• Review and draft contracts, update template agreements, and assist with related due diligence.
• Provide legal support to commercial, R&D, manufacturing, process development, supply chain, and quality functions under attorney supervision.
• Collaborate with legal and business stakeholders, attend client meetings, and prepare contract and topic-focused trainings.
• Present completed work at the conclusion of the internship.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old at the start of the internship.
• Must be independently authorized to work in the United States now and in the future without school or employer sponsorship.
• Must be enrolled full-time in a bachelor's, master's, MBA, JD, or PhD program at an accredited U.S. college or university and remain enrolled full-time in the following fall semester.
• Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 and, after the internship, be enrolled full-time in the fall semester at an accredited law school.
• Must commit to a full-time internship lasting 10–12 consecutive weeks between May and August.
• Must be willing and able to work at the designated site for the entire internship; relocation may be required.

Nice to have

• JD degree and a field of study in law.
