Paralegal, Compliance & Investigations

Location: New York, NY, United States; expected to work in the New York office four days per week. Some flexibility outside normal office hours may be required to support global teams.

Base pay: $73,500–$98,000 annually, plus eligibility for role-specific incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Monitor global compliance intake portals and respond to low-risk compliance, ethics, KYC, conflict-of-interest, and member or vendor vetting queries.
• Identify higher-risk matters, escalate them to senior Compliance colleagues, and ensure timely follow-up and closure.
• Create and update compliance and security training materials, policies, internal websites, and employee communications.
• Conduct initial fact finding for potential conflicts of interest and support investigations into alleged harassment, workplace violence, fraud, kickbacks, and other misconduct.
• Review emails, secure video footage, keycard records, financial data, time and expense reports, public records, and social media content; support interviews and prepare investigative reports.
• Organize compliance and investigative records in accordance with internal policies and applicable privacy regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Strong interest in legal or investigations work; prior paralegal experience at a major law firm is welcome but not required.
• Experience with Excel or Google Sheets and PowerPoint or Google Slides required.
• Strong communication, organization, judgment, discretion, and confidentiality skills.
• English required; the role is based in the New York office four days per week.
• Ability to manage multiple ongoing inquiries and projects while adjusting priorities.

Nice to have

• One to two years of paralegal experience at a major law firm.
• Experience with or interest in general-purpose and legal-specific AI tools.
• Spanish language skills to support teams in Central and South America.
