Program Intern, Legal

Location: Knoxville, TN, USA; full-time, in-person internship from June 7 to August 13, 2027

What you will do

• Conduct legal research and writing on a range of corporate legal issues.
• Analyze complex legal problems and prepare actionable recommendations.
• Support commercial contracting, technology transactions, intellectual property, compliance, operations, and corporate legal functions.
• Collaborate with attorneys and business stakeholders to solve practical business challenges and support strategic initiatives.
• Contribute to improving the efficiency of legal department processes.

Requirements

• Current law student who will have completed at least one year of law school by the start of the program; two years is preferred.
• Strong legal research and writing background.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Suite.
• Excellent written and oral communication, professionalism, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively and independently.
• Demonstrated interest in business and practical problem-solving.

Nice to have

• Experience in a fast-paced legal or corporate setting.
• Participation in a business law clinic, law review, or another legal journal.
• Basic understanding of AI use in a legal context.
