Staff Software Engineer, Delegated Administration (Auth0)

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada; hybrid

Salary: CAD 160,000–220,000 annual base salary

What you will do

• Drive architectural vision and deliver enterprise functionality for authentication flows and Auth0 management capabilities.
• Design and build delegated administration features that help B2B SaaS customers manage access for their customers and partners.
• Identify technical improvements, evolve the codebase and architecture, and lead major cross-team technical projects.
• Build scalable, reliable, and maintainable distributed services and operate them with appropriate observability.
• Partner with product management, product design, engineering teams, and customers to define and improve features.
• Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across the team.

Requirements

• Strong architecture and security knowledge, with experience designing and evolving complex distributed systems.
• Professional experience with Node.js, JavaScript or TypeScript for scalable backend services and public or internal APIs.
• Experience building frontend or full-stack applications, including SPAs, React, and CSS.
• Strong SQL database knowledge, including debugging and optimizing tables and queries for performance under load.
• Experience with Docker, cloud environments, preferably AWS and Azure, and operating services at scale.
• Strong communication, mentoring, technical leadership, and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of OAuth2, OIDC, or SAML authentication protocols.
• DevOps experience and familiarity with Terraform or infrastructure interfaces.
• Security engineering and application security experience.
