Underwriting Summer Internship (Insurance)

Location: Allentown, Pennsylvania, United States; hybrid work at a regional office

Salary: USD $22.00–$25.00 per hour

What you will do

• Learn about the organization’s history, mission, operations, and insurance business.
• Support customer relationships and respond promptly to customer requests.
• Develop and maintain mutually beneficial relationships to support business goals.
• Communicate facts and information clearly in verbal and written formats.
• Complete on-the-job assignments and team projects during the 11-week internship.
• Participate in exposure sessions with senior leadership and a community volunteer day.

Requirements

• High school diploma required.
• Full-time undergraduate junior or senior status preferred.
• Progress toward an applicable degree related to the selected internship area.
• Self-starter able to take direction, follow instructions, multitask, and perform under pressure.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Proficient PC skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.

Nice to have

• Classroom experience in accounting, actuarial studies, audit, bonds, claims, finance, information technology, marketing, or underwriting.
• Presentation skills and strong attention to detail.
• Interest in continuing with the organization after graduation.
