Technician 3, Manufacturing Equipment Maintenance (Sputtering/Vacuum Systems)

What you will do

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, inspections, servicing, and repairs on media manufacturing production equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control-system faults, isolate root causes, and restore equipment performance.
• Document preventive maintenance, equipment failures, service data, and maintenance history in the relevant systems.
• Provide input to shift coordinators and equipment engineers to improve maintenance cycle time, tool availability, quality, scrap, and cost of ownership.
• Train and certify junior technicians.
• Support tool owners and equipment engineers with machine conversions, upgrades, and improvement projects.

Requirements

• Diploma or advanced/higher/graduate diploma in mechanical, mechatronic/electromechanical, electrical/electronic engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment, especially with vacuum chamber systems.
• Knowledge of measurement tools such as multimeters and oscilloscopes, schematic diagrams, and system troubleshooting.
• Ability to analyze failure mechanisms, determine root causes, and complete repairs.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Windows software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Forum Notes.
• Ability to work independently, collaborate with production, process, yield, and quality teams, and work a 12-hour AWS shift with overtime as required.

Nice to have

• Experience with sputtering equipment or related machine maintenance.
• Knowledge of control systems or PLCs.
• Experience as a junior or senior equipment maintenance technician.
