Construction EHS Manager

Location: Pyeongtaek-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea; field-based work with willingness to travel and work in remote locations in Korea or other countries

What you will do

• Develop and review site-specific safety procedures, work instructions, execution plans, and construction EHS documentation.
• Conduct site inspections, audits, hazard identification, pre-task analysis reviews, and corrective-action follow-up.
• Evaluate contractor safety plans, manage onboarding and orientations, coordinate permits, and monitor compliance with hirify.global EHS requirements.
• Lead incident and accident investigations, injury-prevention campaigns, safety recognition programs, toolbox meetings, and all-hands safety meetings.
• Coordinate safety training for management, supervisors, contractors, and personnel performing high-risk work.
• Maintain EHS records, reporting, PPE and safety-supply inventories, visitor rosters, evacuation documentation, and performance tracking.

Requirements

• Fluent spoken and written English or Chinese is required for communication with the Asia PDO team.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in safety or an equivalent field.
• 10+ years of total experience, including 5+ years in construction projects involving industrial gas plants, chemical, or petrochemical facilities.
• Experience as a construction safety manager or engineer, with knowledge of project execution and site management.
• Strong multitasking, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Construction safety, industrial safety, or other relevant construction certificates and licenses.

Nice to have

• Experience with industrial gas or plant construction, including civil, mechanical, piping, electrical, and instrumentation activities.
• Construction management or estimation experience in an international engineering company or major EPC contractor.
• Experience managing construction subcontractors and knowledge of construction contract types.
