Manager, Materials Quality Engineering (Specialty Chemicals and Gases)

Location: Suwon-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. Full-time, onsite role with up to 20% travel between Korea operations, regional team locations in Taiwan and China, suppliers, and regional or global meetings.

hirify.global is hiring for a regional materials quality engineering leadership role supporting chemistry and gas raw materials and supplier quality activities.

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and develop Materials Quality Engineers supporting chemistry and gas commodities across Korea, Taiwan, and China.
• Provide technical direction across supplier management, raw material management, management of change, and new product development.
• Partner with operations, Procurement, R&D, Customer Quality, global MQE teams, and suppliers to align priorities and drive execution.
• Guide investigations involving failure analysis, root cause analysis, SPC, FMEA, control plans, and risk mitigation.
• Lead supplier investigations, audits, corrective and preventive actions, process capability reviews, and customer-facing quality escalations.
• Monitor quality indicators, reporting, risks, deliverables, and corrective actions while maintaining timely closure of CARs, OFIs, OCAPs, and CRs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
• 10+ years of industry experience and at least 3 years of people leadership experience.
• Fluency in Korean and English is required.
• Experience with SPC, FMEA, supplier quality systems, materials characterization, chemistry, gas manufacturing, specialty gases, and raw material process controls.
• Ability to manage employees across multiple locations and collaborate with global, cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency with Minitab, JMP, SAS, SAP, Power BI, and Microsoft Office.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree in a relevant technical field.
• Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
• Fluency in Mandarin or another regional language.
