Tech Lead - Associate Director, Engineering (AI)

What you will do

• Lead frontend and backend engineers and ensure high-quality delivery across disciplines.
• Own service architecture, including microservice boundaries, event-driven design, domain-driven design, and API contracts.
• Write, review, and optimize production code in TypeScript, Node.js, and React, with coding comprising approximately 70% of the role.
• Set standards for safe AI-assisted coding and code review, focusing human review on correctness, architecture, and business logic.
• Mentor engineers, coordinate incident response, resolve production issues, and drive root-cause prevention.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, monitoring, security, and engineering process improvements.

Requirements

• Expertise in TypeScript, Node.js, React, and Next.js, with strong full-stack web application experience.
• Experience designing scalable distributed systems using microservices, event-driven systems, domain-driven design, GraphQL, and secure API practices.
• Production experience with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot.
• Experience with SQL, MongoDB, Redis, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, CI/CD pipelines, testing, observability, and web security.
• At least 10 years of software engineering experience delivering secure, scalable, high-performance applications.
• Strong leadership, mentoring, cross-functional collaboration, presentation, and English communication skills.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with RAG, MCP, and evaluation systems.
• Experience with Java, Kotlin, C#, Kafka, RabbitMQ, or scalable caching and storage solutions.
• Knowledge of SEO optimization and web performance metrics.
