What you will do

  • Lead the materials and processes program support team, managing personnel, priorities, and performance.
  • Define end-to-end qualification strategies, test plans, requirements, and certification pathways for vehicle materials and processes.
  • Oversee internal and external qualification test campaigns, ensuring data quality, traceability, and standards compliance.
  • Coordinate with vehicle engineering, manufacturing, flight sciences, quality, program leadership, and government stakeholders.
  • Manage qualification risks, schedules, and mitigation plans to meet program targets.
  • Deliver qualification reports, material allowables, certification packages, and process improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in materials science or engineering, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related discipline.
  • At least 3 years of experience in aerospace materials engineering, qualification testing, or program management.
  • Experience with aerospace or defense qualification or certification efforts and qualification standards such as MIL, NASA, or ASTM.
  • Strong understanding of material systems, processing methods, and structure-property relationships in high-performance environments.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage complex technical programs, and communicate with government customers.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and meet ITAR eligibility requirements; access to classified information or restricted U.S. Government sites may require additional security clearance or government authorization.

Nice to have

  • 6 or more years of experience in aerospace materials engineering, qualification testing, or program management.
  • Experience improving qualification methodologies, test efficiency, and data management systems.
